Midori Yama FAQ's

"Midori Yama" litterally translates to Green Mountain.

Q: What inspired you to write/draw Midori Yama?
A: Blade of the Immortal by Hiroaki Samura. I read the first chapter one morning and thought to myself "Hey, this isn't a bad manga. Lets read more!" I spend that whole entire day reading it. I was so hooked on it. That night when I went to bed I dreamed of Midori Yama. It was really vague at first but I added the details later.

Q: Are any of the characters based on people you know?
A: Tokage is based of a good friend of mine. As for the other characters, they're based off imaginary people I would like to know.

Q: We often see Ranul and Kumomaru together alot in pictures, are they a couple?
A: No. Ranul and Kumomaru are just the main characters. Koin and Komodo are main characters as well but their role in the story isn't as important as Ranul and Kumomaru's.

Q: What is the purpose of the Midori family?
A: The Midori family has been around for centuries. Thier sole purpose is to protect members of royal blood. What sets Midori members apart from ordinary people is thier eyes. Its a technique called "Kuroi Ojos" meaning black eyes. When activated the scalera (white part of the eye) turns black and their pupils become thin and cat-like. By using the Kuroi Ojos they see everything in slow motion which is a advantage for a Midori in battle.

Q: What is Midori Yama?
A: It is the name of a mountain in Midori Yama. The mountain is surrounded by water. Many centuries ago when the Midori family first formed the mountain became a reserved spot for them to train and live.

Q: What year does Midori Yama take place?
A: Its actually a couple of different time eras in one. I'm not an expert of the Edo period and I'm not sure of what exactly went on back then. But I still tried to keep some of the main elements of the Edo period in the story.

Q: When will Midori Yama come out?
A: I honestly have no idea. However I can tell you that it won't be out this year. You'll definately see more improvements by next year.

The picture is called "Peacock Blues."

Peacock Blues is the name of the final and probably the most important chapters in Midori Yama.
